Scalable Ray Tracing

D-Series makes the industry’s most advanced ray tracing solution affordable and pragmatic. Manufacturers looking to deliver a ray-tracing capable device at a lower cost can now put a half-sized Ray Acceleration Cluster (RAC) inside their Imagination GPU. When combined with Fragment Shading Rate, developers can efficiently deliver PC-level visual effects to smartphones.

Distributed Safety Mechanisms

With D-Series, Imagination introduces a new approach to delivering functionally safe processing logic at dramatically lower power and area when compared to established methods of controlling faults and errors, resulting in higher performance safety-related workloads. Distributed Safety Mechanisms leverages the new, patented Safety Pairs technique to achieve ASIL-B coverage at double the performance, or half the area, of existing solutions.

Compute Libraries

Imagination simplifies AI acceleration on D-Series GPUs with new compute software leveraging open standards like oneAPI. This allows developers to follow a fit-for-purpose workflow, from functional to performant to optimal, aligning with modern edge compute development cycles.

The software includes OpenCL compute libraries (imgBLAS, imgNN, imgFFT) that boost GPU utilisation up to 80% for common workloads. Imagination’s reference toolkits further enhance performance through oneAPI applications or TVM TensorGraph inferencing.
